Sizewell Hall’s Walking Break is a time to walk, spend time with God, relax and make new friends. This fantastic midweek break starts on Tuesday evening and finishes after breakfast on Friday. Each day includes sessions around God’s Word, walks and lovely food. The break is suitable for any walking ability, with options of a shorter or longer route depending on your preference! Upon returning to Sizewell Hall after the walks there is plenty of time to relax, before the evening meal. You can chat with old friends and make new ones – or even take time to dip in the sea! If you love being outdoors, walking,  having fun and fellowship then please consider joining us for this time together.

This year we are very pleased to welcome back Richard and Louise Woollard who are going to be leading the walks across the break –

“Hello! We led the walks for a few years about 5 years ago. Now that our two boys (Peter is 10 years and Luke is 8 years) are fit enough to come on the walks, we are keen to return. Actually, we struggle to keep up with Peter and Luke now! We are both Suffolk born and bred and love this coast and surrounding areas. It is rarely crowded and there are loads of accessible routes into nature. We worship at Whitton Baptist Church in Ipswich and occasionally at Christ Church, when in Lowestoft. Richard is a self-employed Ventilation Engineer and Louise is a Midday Supervisor at the boys’ school, as well as a School Governor. We feel Sizewell is a special place by the sea. It will be great to have fellowship with old and new friends, and time to walk closer with God.”    – Photo after adventure caving in Cheddar Gorge in August 2023

We are also excited to have Andy Godfrey joining us as our guest speaker for the break –

“Hello! I first visited Sizewell in 1985 when I was a student at Moorlands Bible College and on placement with Victor Jack. I instantly fell in love with the place and have always welcomed any opportunity to return – which has not been as often as I would have liked. After leaving College in 1986 I worked with Victor Jack as a full-time Evangelist in Suffolk and attended several events at Sizewell – including Easter House Parties. During one of these Victor and I baptised two people in the sea. Despite moving away I have been to Sizewell on several occasions since as a speaker – at a camp, young people’s conferences, and church retreats.  I have been in full-time Christian work since 1986 – preaching, working with Counties and the Slavic Gospel Association, and I’ve pastored two churches. Today I work with OUTREACH UK as an evangelist, teacher, and trainer,  and I am involved with Sorted Magazine, Konnect Radio, and Trans World Radio. Any excuse to visit Sizewell is a good one. I have discovered that it’s one of those special places where God is always at work. “
